The body of Colin Whelan from Carlow has been found washed up on the river bank at Leighlinbridge. Our investigator thinks the killer threw the body in the river in a panic and needs your help to solve the case. Clues start at Castledermot where Colin met up with mates.

- The Carlow 3-Counties Whodunit Hunt is a self-guided, driving murder mystery trail. It starts in Castledermot, County Wicklow, and ends a few km from Carlow; the trail also strays into County Laois… hence the name of our trail.
- On this Whodunit Hunt you’ll see both beautiful scenery and historic places, one over 5,000 years old! Sites visited include a round tower with high crosses, an astonishing neolithic tomb with the largest capstone in Ireland at over 100 tonnes, the ruins of one of the grandest mansion houses in Ireland, old mills, the historic and beautiful village of Leighlinbridge… and much more!
- We’ll advise the length of the clue route and amount of walking upon launch.
- There are almost 30 clues to solve squeezed into a booklet that has several pieces of extra historical information and trivia that you won’t read en-route. We suggest allowing at least four hours to complete this Whodunit Hunt, excluding refreshment stops.
- Accessibility – once out of the car the terrain is generally quite flat, with only occasional moderate slopes; there are no steps.
- For refreshments, you will pass a number of bars, coffee shops, restaurants along the route as well as shops.
