Tandragee Road Trail

Who Murdered Tanya Magee From Tandragee?

Shy Tanya Magee from Tandragee was never one to steal the limelight… but having been found brutally murdered her name is big local news. Although her body was found at the village’s car park, we believe this was not where the murder was committed and she may have even been murdered outside of the village. The trail for clue evidence therefore begins at the start of the Tandragee road in Newry.
  • The Tandragee Road Trail murder mystery is a self-guided, driving Whodunit Hunt. It starts at Newry and ends near Gilford.
  • The driving route wanders along and across the Newry canal until reaching Gilford, and some clues are beside its waters. En route you’ll visit several villages dating back hundreds of years and find out about some of the characters in their history. In Gilford you’ll see the remains of a magnificent mill and find out about its history and that of the linen industry in the area.
  • The clue route is 25 miles, or about 40 km, before your return to the starting point (or home). There is generally moderate walking, approximately 2 ½ miles / 4 km in total.
  • We suggest allowing 3 – 4 hours hours to complete this Whodunit Hunt, excluding refreshment stops.
  • Accessibility – once out of the car the terrain is generally quite flat, with only occasional moderate slopes; there are no steps.
  • For refreshments, you will pass stores, as well as a number of coffee shops, cafes and restaurants along the route.

Newry

Who Neutralised Natasha In Newry?

The body of new arrival to Newry Natasha Neblinski has been found with her neck broken. Although Natasha’s body was found outside the Quays shopping centre, it is believed this was not where the murder was committed. Detectives are struggling to tie up the loose ends of the case and thus need your help to solve the murder.
  • The Newry Whodunit Hunt is a self-guided, walking murder mystery trail.
  • Newry has a history stretching back around 1,000 years! Despite being a busy city, you’ll come across numerous historic sites away from the shopping centres, learn about the linen industry here, the canal, maritime disasters, characters who shaped Newry’s development… and more!
  • The clue route is 3 miles, or about 5 km.
  • This murder mystery is jam packed with over 30 clues to solve in a booklet containing several pieces of extra historical information and trivia. The recommended time for completing it, excluding refreshment stops, is about three hours.
  • Accessibility – this is a generally flat route, with little in the way of gradient and no steps.
  • Refreshments – there are numerous restaurants and cafes, some good coffee shops (our favourite is Grounded for yummy cakes and friendly service), a bakery, and stores on your clue hunt.

Slieve Gullion

Who Slaughtered Steven Gray In The Slieve Gullion Area?

Steven Gray has been found murdered at Meigh, near Newry, but it is believed he was killed elsewhere. Even our best team of investigators have uncovered very few leads and thus need your help to solve the murder.
  • The Slieve Gullion Whodunit Hunt starts at Derrymore House, Bessbrook, just to the West of Newry off the A1, and ends nearby.
  • This is a self-guided, circular driving murder mystery trail.
  • You’ll see super mountain scenery as you drive around the Ring Of Gullion area. Also learn about the area’s past linen industry, visit a National Trust property, a graveyard where the brother of Robert The Bruce is buried, a ruined castle, an ancient tomb dating back thousands of years… and LOTS more!
  • The driving route is about 40 miles, or 64 km.
  • There is about 3 miles / 5 km of walking in total, spread across numerous clue stops along the route.
  • This is a deluxe Whodunit Hunt with nearly 40 clues in a bumper-sized booklet, so we suggest that you set aside much of a full day (around 6 hours) to cover this murder mystery trail.
  • Accessibility – it is mostly fairly flat where all of the clues are to be found, however one clue has an inclined path to a field; it is recommended to take sensible shoes.
  • There are several bars, cafes, and convenience stores along the route for refreshment.
  • Note: in April 2024 a parking charge of £5 was introduced into Slieve Gullion Forest Park. While it is in theory possible to avoid this with additional walking, for 6+ hours of investigative fun we think that this fee on top of the price of the Whodunit booklet is still incredible value!
